i want to know the difference between different from & different than
thanks in advance
Although some consider ‘different than’ incorrect or informal, they are both used in AmE. Use ‘different from’ when you compare directly between two things or persons. I am different from you, for example. Use ‘different than’ when the object is a full clause. This place looks so different than it was 30 years ago, for example. The safer bet is to use ‘different from’ if you not sure.
