Default thrice running

I failed thrice running when I was writing for the exam.

Is this sentence correct?

Please help me.

Grammatically yes, semantically no.

I failed thrice at my exam.
I failed thrice at writing

But generally it is not a word used in this sort of context. Better to keep to the simple "three times".

Thrice is an old-fashioned word. If you ever use it, native English speakers will laugh at you.
