tough and strong
I made a mistake by posting "tight and strong"...anyway...
Could you explain to me the difference between "tough" and "strong"?
Can I use them in the same context?
1) Micky, hold me tough/strong!
2) She's a very strong/tough woman!
Could you give me some examples where I can see the right use of them? and could you tell me if there are other words that can express the same concept.

Tough means:
-vigorous or not easily influenced, as a person; unyielding; stubborn: a tough man to work for.
-capable of great endurance
-mentally vigorous
Strong means :
-having, showing, or able to exert great bodily or muscular power; physically vigorous or robust: a strong boy.
-aggressive; willful: a strong personality.
Does it help?

Either.

The woman in 2 could be tough or strong or both - see Teia's definitions.
Examples:
It's tough when you lose both parents when you're a child. [hard to bear]
You have to be strong. [resilient]
Oh Heathcliff, we must be strong. [firm-willed]
The Millky Bar Kid is tough and strong [this is a quote from a real advert. The MBK was a little boy pretending to be a cowboy and eating a Milky Bar (white chocolate, and he was blond of course) - the implication was that it was healthy and nutritious.]
