Default Edit (2) please.

When you have time, would you please take a look at this part. Thanks again. BMO

As of September 2003, Taiwan has submitted 135 independent films to the International Film Festival, of which 54 were nominated and 1 was awarded. From January till September of the same year, approval for domestic viewings included films from (1) Taiwan, 7; (2) Hong-Kong, 17; (3) China, 5; and (4) others, 131; totaling 160 films. In the past 7 years, from 1996 till 2003, foreign films distributed in Taiwan had been on the rise, from 70% to 82.87%. This indicates a reduction in Taiwan-produced films, from 5% down to 3.55%.

It has been rumored director Any Lee was sought to film the story about the founder of the land of Taiwan, however, when will this film be completed remains unknown. The film industry in Taiwan’s economic recession is actually beneficial to the others internationally because there are many wonderful screenplays to be adapted such as the natives of Taiwan. And there are beautiful sceneries in Taiwan awaiting “discovery,” such as Hua-Lian’s mountainous area and the coastlines along the east and the west of Taiwan.

I changed "this" to "current statistics" because it appeared that you were referring to the first set of numbers as opposed to the 7 year statistics. If I misunderstood, let me know. As written, the word "this" refers to the 7 year statistics.

The film industry could be important in helping Taiwan recover from its economic recession. There are many wonderful screenplays to be adapted, such as "The Natives of Taiwan" [is that a title?]. Also, Taiwan has beautiful scenery, waiting to be "discovered", including Hua-Lian’s mountainous area and Taiwan's east and the west coastlines.
