Someone and Somebody

What are the differences between Someone and somebody?

The only one I sense is that someone is more formal-- or rather, both are used in informal or spoken English, but someone is much preferred in formal written English (by me, at least).


PS: There is also at least one idiomatic usage, 'He's a Somebody' (= he's very important), where 'someone' will not substitute.
