A: " Oh, maybe you just don't want to help me."
B: "Of course, I do."
A: "Remember I helped you the last time you came to me when your baby was hospitalized. I wouldn't do that to you again. I couldn't rely on you when it's I who's needy."
question: what attitude did"A" display on the last part of the dialogue?

I would like to share my diminutive knowledge with your question.
- Grammatical error should be:
+ B: "... If only you came to me three days ago, I should have lent you some."
- "A" attitude: I think he is a self-interested person or egotist. He helsp others but wants others to pay him back.
pls gude me if i'm wrong!

Thanks for the correction, I missed that one. But I don't think that he's an egotist, he recalled what he did when the "B" couldn't offer him help. |

Hi, but he reminds "B" that he used to help him meaning that he wants "B" to pay him back what he used to do to "B".
"...I wouldn't do that to you again. I couldn't rely on you when it's I who's needy." shows that "A" is willing to help only the one who could help him later when he is in trouble.

yes it might be. but the attitude I'm looking is that "A reminded B of what he did in the past perhaps to force to other to help him in some way."
This does not describe an attitude, it describes a set of actions. |
