can't tell the difference "excuse me", "i'm sorry" and "pardon me", what are the difference?

Teacher Excuse me- usually used to attract someone's attention tospeak or to ask them to let you pass.
I'm sorry- used to apologise.
Pardon- used to ask someone to repeat what they have said
Pardon me- used if you have burped or hiccupped, etc.

Teacher Re: can't tell the difference IN American Engish, "excuse me" and "pardon me" are mostly interchangeable. :wink:
