Re: With "s" or Without "s" It's very simple and evident when you reduce the object to a pronoun.
One of my coworkers is an expert on grammar.(I don't know that there is such a thing as a "grammar expert").
The sentence can be reduced to:
"One of them is an expert." (them, plural. Hence, "coworkers")
When we say "one of..." it is always followed by a plural object, otherwise, we couldn't say "one of", now could we? |
