Meaning of Get + passive voice

I can't give any good examples about but please note the following ones:

- Jack got hit by a truck because of recklessly driving but he claimed that it
wasn't his fault.

-My friends got lost in the jungle last year because of paying no attension
to the the signs but they believed it was their fate.

The first sentence, with the passive used, Jack got hit by..., is alright; the verb get (got in your case) is an alternative to was in informal contexts.
The second sentence, however, doesn't contain the passive - get lost is a phrase that only looks like a passive structure.

Engee has handled well the grammatical aspects of your query, Majid, so I'll try to address your questions above.

I don't believe that this structure, passive or otherwise, always means "an action occurred suddenly" though many do.

I gradually got sicker and sicker but I got treated for it finally and mad a complete recovery.

Neither does it always entail that the actor/speaker places blame elsewhere though especially with the passive the real actor, the one who perfroms the action is responsible, at least for that action taking place.
