I watched The IT Crowd on Channel 4 last Friday, and there's one line I'm not sure I understood... At the end of the show, a man put a cell phone in his pocket. The phone's vibrator is very powerful and the man's body is soon badly shaken all up, causing him to nearly entering a trance! Then the shot is cut, because it's over, but we hear the man say: Nearly at the station! Does anyone knows what he's referring to? Thanks a lot for your help! any1 :)

I would need more context, but you seem to have given as much as you could.

It sounds to me as if The IT Crowd was making a cheap (and derivative) gag about mobile phones/sex aids. b

That was my guess too, but it seemed a little cheeky, and I haven't heard a reference like that before, but of coure he could be coining it.

Not coining it. I first heard it on Absolutely Fabulous four or five years ago. b PS Perhaps I misunderstood the reference of your 'it'; I haven't heard the 'station' image either.

Yes, I was referring to the bit about being "almost at the station" in some sort of innuendo.

I've heard similar phraseology on other TV shows...for example, on Will and Grace, two men were bragging about their sexual prowess, and one made mention to "Maybe you drive them to the station, but do they get off?" Rather risque, I thought, but I grew up watching tamer stuff like The Brady Bunch.
