Dear teachers,
The following is a dialogue:
W: I wonder if you'd like to answer a few questions. We are doing a market survey.
M: That depends. What sort of questions are they?
Q: What is the probable relationship between the woman and the man?
a. Interviewer and interviewee.
b. Saleswoman and customer.
I think the answer should be 'b'. But the key is 'a'. Why?
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.
Have a nice weekend.

'I wonder' is a way of starting a conversation that the other might not be expecting. A salesperson wouldn't need to use it. By interviewer, they mean the people who stop you in the street to ask you questions, unless you see them first.![]()
Thank you very much for your explanation. Now I see.
Have a nice weekend.

Sales people do in fact conduct market research/surveys, but given the choice 'Interviewer and interviewee' the better choice would be A.
All the best, :D
