    Default (the) most evident

"Something was (the) most evident in group B"

Is this "the" required there or not?

    Thanks

If there is more than one thing that's most evident, then yes; e.g., Two things are most evident: A and B. B is the most evident.

And if there's just one thing that's most evident, then there's the most evident. Do I get it right?
