run-on sentence. ( A run-on sentence is one in which two or more complete thoughts are written incorrectly as one sentence.)
This sentence may be corrected like this:
a) Please walk more slowly. I can't keep up with you. OR like this:
b) Please walk more slowly because I can't keep up with you.
2. The original sentence is better in my point of view, although some might consider me a purist or a traditionalist. :wink:
I know that "me opening" is acceptable in informal speech, but I prefer to use the possessive case to modify a gerund.
He objected to
my opening the window.
He objected to
Mary's opening the window.
So, imho, the only mistake in the two original sentences is the comma in the first one.
