at various points
when we say "at various points", it means at different points of time, or in different spots? can we distinguish the two meanings by the preposition they use, such as "at" or "in"? or both meanings could be possible depending on the context?
and what's is the clear way to present both meanings without confusion?
thanks

Re: at various points
You will be able to identify which it means through the context of the sentence:
At various points in his life, the singer changed his style of singing. [time]
At various points in the journey, we passed bridges that looked very unsafe. [place]
