This is my first time here, however I´m gonna try to explain my doubt regarding the use of the words above mentioned. I´ve been working in the shipping business for 15 years, but sometimes I feel quite confused about some words.
For example : Discharge operations have been fully "affected" due to rain.
For your better understanding, I´d like to say that "discharge operations cannot be carried out whenever rains", thus all operation is delayed, prejudiced, hampered, affected"
Just to make a long story short, pls tell me which is the appropriate word I should use in this case ?
Your help on this will be extremely appreciated enabling me to solve this issue once for all !
With kindest regards,

Re: to affect
The entire / whole operation is affected / delayed / by bad weather/by rainfall.
