Default Grammar check, Commas

We believed we were smart and did all the research on it before we ventured into this rickety, qualmish land, thought to be full of purposeless motions and an insomnious state.

Is there anyone who sees any grammatical error with the statement above?

If you add in all the omitted words--the optional words (...), you'll find the last comma isn't required:
We believed (that) we were smart and (that we) did all the research on it before we ventured into this rickety, qualmish land (that was) thought to be full of purposeless motions and an insomnious state.
