There's also 'the shotgun approach/technique' (often, more clearly, 'the scatter-gun approach/technique').

Sorry, no context, Anglika. Please forget about this question. I was just wondering while i was reading a book. But, as you could see when you marked my first post of the thread, i have been reading for too long today and i need a rest! (de instead of the - Good God in heaven!)
