    Which of the two sentences is correct?
    Sathya Sai Baba was born Sathya Narayana Raju in the village of Puttaparthi, Andhara Pradesh.
    Sathya Sai Baba was born as Sathya Narayana Raju in
    the village of Puttaparthi,Andhara Pradesh.

    Both are correct. The first is more colloquial.
