primitive materials or raw materials?
What's the difference between primitive materials and raw materials?
In this sentence:" We have had to raise our prices because of the increase in the cost of _____ materials? "
Which one should I use there?
Thank you!

I think if you are talking about industry, the adjective 'primitive' does not have the meaning of being processed later, while the word 'raw' does. In this sense, I think you should use the word raw material. The adjective 'primitive' refers to basicity.

Raw materials is very common; the other doesn't really mean very much.
