Italics
Dear Sir/Madam,
While reading some commentaries or reports, I usually encounter the words in parenthesis - "Italics are mine" or "Italics supplied"
Kindly elaborate.

Re: Italics
"Italics are mine" indicates that the author is highlighting a part of the quoted text for his own purposes, and that it was not highlighted in the original.
I have not seen "Italics provided" - I suppose it could mean the text was so highlighted in the original.
