VERY IMPORTANT! REWRITING QUESTIONS. IS THAT SENTENCE GOOD?
HELLO!I AM PREPARING FCE AND I HAVE THIS EXAM 19TH JUNE. I HAVE DONE SOME EXERCISES BUT THE ANSWERS ARE DIFFERENT. COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS SENTENCE IS CORRECT?
"You will soon be a good driver if you follow my advice"said the instructor.
The answer of the book is: The instructor said I would soon drive well if I follow his advice
My answer: The instructor said I would become a good driver if I followed his advice.

Re: VERY IMPORTANT!!!REWRITING QUESTIONS. IS THAT SENTENCE G
Hi,
Your answer seems to be better than the one in the book. I would, however, use 'be' instead of 'become' to be consistent with the original sentence.
What is the book that you are using?
Iza

I agree with you that her answer was better.

I'll third it- Izabela is right. It could be a misprint- books nowadays seemto be just spellchecked.

Hello all.
I'm in favour of her answer too. The tense should step back once.

Change one, then change them all.
