    Default grammar

    Dear teachers,
Here are two sentences from a text:
    a. From the first moments I made many friends and fell in love with mnay girls.
    b. IN the music room we sang our first songs.
    My question is:
Why 'first moments' instead of 'first moment'; 'first songs' instead of 'first song'?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you in advance.

I agree, moment sounds better to me as well, but it is a poor sentence in general.

Why 'first songs' instead of 'first song'?

Well probably the person who said this has sung many songs with this person over a period of time. He/she is remembering their first encounter with that person in the Music room.

They did not just sing one song then...they sang several songs.

So they sang their first songs there.
