"she fell in love to the heir to a wallpaper fortune" what does wallpaper fortune mean please? I appreciate the help.

Just because I watched so many Princess Diana specials on the 10th anniversary of her death, I automatically know you're referring to her mother, Frances Shand-Kydd.

She married a man whose family had made a large amount of money by selling (or manufacturing) wallpaper.
