exam or exams Hi native speakers,
I read a thread saying that 'If you want to include the word "examination" [which would commonly be shortened to "exams"], "I shall be sitting my GCSE exams later this year". Whether you use the plural or the singular will depend on how many subjects you are taking for GCSE.'
So does it mean that the short form of examination is 'exams'? If yes, how about 'exam'? Is 'exam' a short form of 'examination'?
