with. Could this sentence:
a-I let the cat out of the bag with James.
Have two meanings:
1-James and I let the cat out of the bag.
2-I let the cat out of the bag as regards James. (I let James know what he wasn't supposed to know.)

Re: with. "He let the cat out of the bag" is like its sister phrase "He spilled the beans" in that it usually stands alone. Context will reveal what information was divulged.
