I am confused with the two verbs" agree" and "accept" ex: He asked me to marry him and I accepted or He asked me to marry him and I agreed?

Agree and accept are almost interchangeable in your example. You can accept one`s ideas but disagree with her or him. I have to accept my manager`s ideas but I don`t agree with him. I have to do it because s/he is my manager but I disagree with his ideas or plans.

Examples: He asked me to marry him, and I accepted (his proposal). He asked me to marry him, and I agreed (to marry him). It's two different statements that turn out to be the same thing.
