On Katie Cassidy, David Cassidy's daughter, I read:
"Despite her father's disapproval, she landed a deal with Artemis Records to cover his 70's hit "I Think I Love You."
What does it mean "to cover" here? Not quite sure of understanding it.
Previously, it is said that Katie, already being a teenager, was interested in show business and that studied acting, singing and dance. So which meaning from "cover" is suitable here? Maybe re singing his father's song for this records level?
Thanks a lot.![]()

A band or singer who sings songs that were made famous by other bands/singers are "covering" that song.
For example, at a high school dance, you might have a "cover band" play, and they would perform the songs made popular by others.
Yes, re-releasing her fathers song for that record label. She is going to be singing it, AKA covering it. (y).
Thank You very much both of you for your kind attention![]()
