proof-reading
Dear teachers,
Will you take the trouble to amend the following imperfect sentences?
1. Really we don't know the context of the original sentence but we could make a guess. By them, the best possible.
2. Maybe X is a man in esteemed age yet but I hope I can afford me to quote a brief piece of Charles Dickens's novel "Oliver Twist.
3. Probably it won't hamper him neither the rest of you.
My compliments.

You start each sentence with an adverb. This is only done if you want emphasis. It should not be the normal way of writing.
1. We really don't know the context of the original sentence but we could make a guess. By then, the best possible..........??????? (you have not written an ending here for the sentence)
3. It probably won't hamper him or the rest of you.

2. Maybe X is a man in esteemed age yet [who is much esteemed] but I hope I can afford me [be allowed] to quote a brief piece of Charles Dickens's novel "Oliver Twist.

Re: proof-reading
Dear Naamplao, thank you very much for your correction.
2. I afford myself the the pleasure of writing a brief excerpt of Charles Dickens's novel "Oliver Twist" although Mr.X is well advanced in years.
I think that now after observing your advice referring wrong start my sentence I hope the situation is clearer.

Re: proof-reading
There is a logical problem in your sentence. What is the connection between Mr X {and his age} and you writing an excerpt from Oliver Twist?

Re: proof-reading
Hi Anglika, thank you for your efforts.
1. We really don't know the context of the original sentence but we could make a guess. By then, this one which is most plausible.
Thank you again.

Hi Anglika,
2. I afford myself the pleasure of writing a brief excerpt of Charles Dickens's novel "Oliver Twist" although Mr.X is well advanced in years.
I have a preposition that because of his advance of years he wouldn't show interest towards this book.
I am ready to recipe every your proposal unconditionally.

Ok - How about:
Although Mr X is old, and perhaps not interested, I allowed myself the pleasure of reading him a brief excerpt from Charles Dickens's "Oliver Twist".

Re: proof-reading
Hi Anglika,
I'm impressed with your uncanny knack, steady efforts and astounding endurance.
I think we have to get the present proof-reading over. I rest contented.
Thank you again.
