"Pride and Prejudice"
Could anyone rephrase the following sentence for: "scold them
into harmony and plenty"?
Appreciate any help!
Thanks
Context: "whenever any of the cottagers were disposed to
be quarrelsome, discontented, or too poor, she sallied forth into the village
to settle their differences, silence their complaints, and scold them
into harmony and plenty." (Chapter 30)

Re: "Pride and Prejudice"
It is an ironic sentence. She does not really scold them, but rather encourages them to be well behaved and to apply themselves to working hard.
