    Is it common? Old-fashioned? Mainly US/UK? Does it collocate with some given words?

    Yes; No; North America (I don't know about the UK);

    Just a smidgen or
    Just a smidge or
    Just a smitch

    Usually used with food & beverages or items such as glue and make-up, which are applied with the tips of the fingers.
