    We have only one governor in Canada and that is the Governor General of of Canada, who is the Queen's representative in the country. This is a figurehead position with no power anymore. Many in this country want to get rid of this position as it is a hold over from Canada's colonial roots.

    The provinces of Canada are governed by the leader of the political party with the majority of seats in a provincial election. This leader is called the Premier of the Province of Alberta, of Manitoba, of Ontario.....

    In the cities there is usually no political party affiliation between members of the city council. The leader of a city is voted in a separate ballot from the councilors. The leader of the city is called the Mayor. The Mayor of Calgary, of Winnipeg, of Vancouver.....
