From the context, I assume that it has nothing to do with the meaning related "shutting down". What does "close a sale" mean?

We close a sale = we complete a sale. This sentence, which must be from an advertisement, is saying that the advertiser cares about his customers and that each time a sale is made, so a personal connection is made.

Just to add some extra help, this English idiom can also be found with "deal" instead of "close". In both cases the meaning is 'to complete a sale to a customer'. And if you know someone really good at closing deals, this person is a "good closer". Regards to you all.
