Somebody asked me this in the office yesterday, if this one´s right or not.
I couldn´t recognize it. He asked me if what do I think of the phrase/sentence/or whatever it is, ¨Time clock run¨, if it is grammatically right or not. I immediately said no, it´s not. A time clock is as what you said a clock and it runs. So it should be ¨The time clock runs.¨ He told me ¨NO¨. He means ¨A time clock run¨ as in ¨fun run¨ or what other kinds or run there may be...

In "time clock run", run is not a verb it is a noun meaning an running activity and "time clock" are adjectives that modify "run"

I have never heard the words "time clock" used to mean anything other than a time-stamping device used to keep track of the hours that an employee has worked. Time clock - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Maybe everyone is running for the time clock at the end of a work day.

It is understandable....but not a common phrase.
