Default pass

Hi there,
If I want to collect my students' assignment, can I say like this?
Boys, pass your homework to the front

Then, if I want to give some notes to my students and I put them on the desk of the first row and ask the students to pass, can I say like this?

Pass the notes to the back.

many thanks

pete

Default Re: pass

"Pass your papers to the front" is fine. When putting a pile of papers on the front desk, my teachers used to instruct us "Take one and pass the rest back."
