Anna thought about staying home from school today.
How should I interpret from in other words in the above context? Thanks.

'staying home________school today.'
Maybe the best words are 'staying home and away from school today.'
You can also say 'staying home (rather than)(instead of) going to school today.'
I can't think of any others now.
