    Are school athletic meet the same as school sports meet? Are there more diverse names? Thanks.

    Hi, angliholic!

    In the US we usually specify what the athletic event will be. 'Athletic meet' and 'school sports meet' are too vague. Here are some examples of common usage for athletic events:
    * The baseball game with Central High School will begin at 5:30 PM tomorrow.
    * Be sure to arrive early for the football game because it will be crowded.
    * The swim meet for teams in the Northern League will be at University Pool on Saturday.
