I would like to know is the word Driver License a Compound Noun or Descriptive Noun; additional, how would I write the word as a Possessive Noun?

Driver's licence. I am a British English speaker and we say 'Driving Licence'. I don't know if the offical term in American English is 'Driver License'. If it is, then I would call it a compound noun.
