    Default meet sb halfway

    Hi there,

Is the expression 'meet sb halfway' used correctly in the following sentences? Any other similar expressions (formal and informal)?

I think teachers should be strict with their students. They should not meet them halfway all the time.

Parents should not meet their children halfway all the time.

When a man falls in love with a woman, he will meet her halfway all the time.

    Many thanks

    pete

    Pete,
"Meet halfway" is a rather informal phrase. It would be better to use the word "compromise", as in: Parents should not always compromise with their children.
