Default I'm lost

I know these sentences are wrong

For the employee it's the same. should be
It's the same for the employee.
I was arriving at the office and I looked at the computer. should be When I arrived at the office I looked at the computer.

but can anyone explain to me what is gramatically wrong with them. Why does -for the employee- have to go at the end. Why can't I say -I was arriving-?

Thanks
