Smile pull out the robber's ID

Max tells Jimmy to look in the robber's pockets for some identification/s and he will call the police. Jimmy pulls/takes out the robber's ID and says his name is William Lu.

Should I use the plural identifications in the above context? If not, why not?
Besides, does pulls out means takes out? Thanks.

Don't use 'indentifications'; this meaning of "identification" is noncountable. We usually say 'pieces of identification' for plural.

"pulls out" means "takes out", but "takes out" is better and is more commonly said.

Thanks, 2006, for the helpful reply.
In the interests of truth, what does "pieces of identification" refer to?

Pieces of indentification are things like a drivers licence, a birth certificate, a credit card; anything that identifies who you are.

Thanks, 2006, for your clear reply.
As a minor aside, it comes to mind that ID cards seem to be countable nouns for me. Am I off the mark?

Yes, they are countable, but not all pieces of ID are cards.
