I'm not sure exactly what you mean by 'bad memory', but if you mean someone who doesn't remember well...here are a few idioms.

In UK English, and only used informally...

"I have a memory/head like a sieve"...I keep forgetting things.

"She has the memory of a goldfish"....poor short-term memory.

"He'd (would) forget his head if it wasn't screwed on"....very forgetful.

There are more I'm sure, but that's all I can think of at the moment!

I sometimes got a head like a sieve that's why I need to study often to keep things in.
