Default Grammatically correct Christmas and New Year Greeting

In formal communication, do I use "Marry Christmas and Happy New Year" or "Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year" or rather "...and a very Happy New Year"?
Thank you very much

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
is the norm.

There is no reason why you should not say " a very happy New Year" if you know the person well and want to emphasise the wish.
