Do wowed as well as oohed and aahed convey about the same idea in the above to you? Are they very colloquial? Thanks.

"Wowed" can be used in the simple past but it would probably be said this way.
The breathtaking scenery wowed all the visitors.
It is the scenery that is impressing the visitors...not the other way around.
