Try this: I've only been away for a week.

"It's been only a week since I was away." means that I was away, but now I have been back for only a week.

"It's been a week that I was away.' is not a good sentence; I don't know what it means.

Barb_D's sentence, 'I've only been away for a week.", means that I went away a week ago, and I am still away.

Ah yes. I wasn't thinking of the other meanings that may have been intended.

I was only away for a week. I went away for a week and I am back now. -- one more possibility
