Default Starting sentence with "Following"

Hello,

Will you be able to tell me if starting a sentence with "Following" is correct or incorrect?

I remember someone telling me that a sentence should not be started with the word "Following".

Thank you,
Manohar

Hi, Thank you for the reply.

I understood the example you gave.

What about the following construction? Is this correct usage?

"Following is an illustration of the Microsoft Word screen."

Thank you.

Strictly speaking, it seems ok, but in what context would you say it?
