Burning season

In countries like Thailandia and Burma, what's the so called "burning season" which seems to happen on february? Could you say to me why is it so called?
Extremely hot and humidity? Fire danger for woods?

Please, let me ask you for something I'm reading on that; I read that in "burning season" it takes place a field clearing. Must I infer that it is the period where somebody burns forests for making clear the land, in order to get space or the like?

You are right.:-) In fact it is called land clearing.This is usually done for agriculture or any other form of developmental work. In fact there are campaigns by ecologists against this practice.
