Smile on a double-decker bus ride

I rested my feet on a double-decker bus ride for a while, but I made sure to hop off at the Tate Modern, an art museum that was once a power station.

I wonder if I could reword the underlined part as the following:

a double-layer bus ride.
a double-decker ride.

A "double-decker bus" Is a specific type of bus. It is known by that name....you cannot change it and be understood.
