suggest takes a 'that' clause, like this,

She suggests that I work quickly.
She suggests that we work quickly.

'that' can be omitted, like this,

She suggests I work quickly.
She suggests we work quickly.

Notice the subject of the 'that' clause is I, we.

Here's a near synonym for the verb suggest: want. That verb takes me, like this,

She wants me to work quickly.
She wants us to work quickly.

Notice the object of the verb want is me, us.
