Default ring up

Can the preposition 'up' be left out in the following sentence?

1. I shall ring you up tomorrow.

2. When is the best time to ring you up?

3. Henry rang up his doctor to find out the results.

Ring up is a phrasal verb meaning phone or call smb.up.
In my opinion, the best choice is ring up.

You can also say : I shall give you a ring tomorrow.
