    Default it or them?

    A customer to a salesclerk:

"I want to buy a electric fan, do you have ( it / them?)"

Which one should be used here, it or them?

    Thanks!

    1) Customer: I want to buy an electric fan. Do you have any (fans)?

Although the customer wants to buy just one fan, the store, if they carry fans, will tend to have more than one fan in stock, so "Do you have any"? is the way it's commonly/usually said. :D

You could also use 'one', like this,

    2) Customer: I want to buy an electric fan. Do you have one (i.e. an electric fan)?
